Arsenal Easy Past Leeds, Restoring Eight-point Lead

Arsenal securing their seventh consecutive win in a row saw them defeat Leeds United 4-1 on Saturday 1st April 2023.  At the Emirates Stadium and retaining their eight-point lead at the top of the English Premier League.

Gabriel Jesus scored the first goal of the game in the 35th minute from the penalty spot. Before Ben White later doubled their lead about two minutes after the game restarted in the second half.

Gabriel Jesus then secured a brace in the 55th minute of the game. The Brazilian hasn’t scored a goal since October. A month before he sustained an injury at the just concluded World Cup. Rasmus Kristensen got Leed’s sole goal to comfort them from their loss. Granit Xhaka scored for the second league game running at the 84th mark. Increasing their lead to 3 goals to 1.

The Gunners are having a good time sitting at the top of the Premier League with a comfortable eight-point advantage over Manchester City their immediate rivals.

The away side Leads are however still in competitive relegation battle and will face their fellow relegation zoned colleagues Nottingham Forest.

The league leaders Arsenal are looking in a good position to win the league again. considering that they last won the English Premier League (EPL) title in the 2003-2004 season, which is also known as the “Invincibles” season. They finished the season unbeaten, winning 26 games and drawing 12, and finished 11 points clear at the top of the table. Thanks to the likes of Bukayo Saka, Thomas Partey, Gabriel Martinelli, Ramsdale, Tierney and the captain Martin Odegaard. The club is looking like what it used to be back in the days once again.
